Emily is my daughter. Each time I say her name my heart fills with pride. She is a single mother of two beautiful children. Her life was in turmoil and she was homeless. After praying so hard that God finally said to me, "I heard you the first twenty times and I'm on it, ok?" she has turned her life around.
Emily is now going to college, working as a server at a local Red Lobster, and making a beautiful home and life for her children and herself. Her self-esteem was down the tubes and she had reached the bottom and nothing I was saying to her or giving her was making a difference. She needed to figure it out for herself and figure it out she did!
Everything that comes out of her mouth now absolutely blows my mind! I knew she had it in her, as did everyone else in her social circle but until SHE figured it out it was irrelevant. Each time I talk to her on the phone I hang up with a tear in my eye. She has given me so much and she doesn't even know it. This beautiful child of mine is on her way to making a true difference in our world. She is in the Health Care field in school and she is carrying a 4.0 GPA and when she graduates, she will touch the lives of others that are hurt or in need. She continues to give even if she hasn't got it to give. Why? Because it is the right thing to do and her heart tells her she must.
I love you Emily and you will never know how proud I am of you because they haven't invented those words yet and they never will!

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
