Nancy B

I met Nancy B. a number of years ago through a mutual friend. I was told I had to meet her because we had a lot of similar interests. Besides, we shared the same name. About a year later I had the pleasure of meeting Nancy when I attended the first planning meeting for a nonprofit grief center. Nancy's passion and love for people that were hurting ignited a spark within me. I told her I didn't know how I was going to help but I knew I wanted to be a part of her dream.

I co-facilitated the organization's first group with Nancy. All of the particpants had lost a child. Everytime one of them cried, I cried. I didn't think I was going to be able to continue facilitating. Nancy encouraged me to stick it out. Not only did I grow to love it but Nancy became a friend and mentor.

The nonprofit grief center has been up and running for approximately seven years. The center is getting ready to break ground on a real live facility. Finally they will actually have a place they can call home. Nancy truly is a light for hurting people and she has been a light for me.
