My mom is my hero. She was very poor growing up had to quit school in the 8th grade to work to help support her family. She met my dad whose family was not fond of her because of her social status. They went on to marry and had four kids. My father worked two and three jobs most of his life until he made a transition into a great job, all the while my mom stayed home and took care of the family and home all at her own cost. Soon after my dad had gotten to a point that he no longer had to work so many jobs he became sick with cancer and died shortly after diagnosis. My mom moved forward without proper education and raised her kids to the best of her ability teaching all of us of life and survival. The strength and power she showed me I carry with me everyday and I thank her. She died this past summer and I miss her guidance and advice everyday. I LOVE AND RESPECT YOU MOM!

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
