My hero is my father. He grew up a country boy in West Virginia and learned a lot about life through his hard work on the farm. My mother would often tell me, "You know your father can do anything, you need to pay more attention to the things he does." It was not until I was older that I realized what an amazing man he really was, not only as an individual, but in many people's lives. He is never one to brag about his good deeds, but always lends a caring hand. One of my dear friends from high school came to me one Christmas and told me that his family's Christmas would not be as wonderful, if it were not for my father. No one would have ever known and my father is not one to brag. Several times since then I have found occasions where my father gave the shirt off his back to people in need. He is not only a "giver" of material objects, but also a "giver" of knowledge. Whenever I have a problem, I never hesitate to call my father. He always gives me logical clear guidance. He is an amazing man, a tremendous leader and wonderful father.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
