My story is an inspiring story about a woman who has partaken in several roles, throughout her life.
She has been a mother, a leader, a grandmother, and an amazing example of how to be a 'strong' not only person, but woman. My grandmother stepped in to take care of my brother and I when I was in the fifth grade. She saved us from a life of pain and sorrow from a real-life wicked step mother. We were only 8 & 9 years old and treated like servants.
Once I revealed this to my grandmother, the process of a new beginning was on its way. She put her all into doing everything that she could to rescue us from a life of misery.
Not long after, she saved us with a piece of paper that proved 'legal guardianship'. She's not alone; my grandfather was a part of this saving grace for my brother & I.
My grandparents became my legal 'parents' & my brother & I were bound for better lives.
My grandmother is my hero because she set out to help to the best of her ability. She was a Teamster for over 10 years & her whole life has been about giving to people.
She is naturally a 'giver' and she gave me the greatest childhood I could ever ask for. Thanks my sweet, amazing, wonderful grandmother (& grandfather).

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
