My everyday hero was my father. He was diagnosed with Islet Cell Cancer in the pancreas in 2009 and his fight lasted only nine short months. In those nine months he prepared me for life after he was gone, he helped me figure out who should walk me down the isle, he reminded me he'd be watching over me the day I graduated, and for every birthday he'd always be there. To speak of moving on, and living life without him must have torn him to pieces but he did it so bravely. He was the most selfless man I knew, even in his last days, he was making sure all of us were ready and prepared. When he found out his battle was terminal he got all of our huge family together and told us, I remember him saying "You do the things you have to do, and know that they are there for a reason, you don't have to have all the answers". The value he was determined to instill in me, and all those close to him was to Choose Hope, to never give up and never stop believing, and on my dark days when I feel like nothings worth it anymore, I remember to Choose Hope, and I know that its my daddy reminding me that there's always light at the end of the storm. He's my Guardian Angel, and my everyday hero.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
