Al is my brother. For years we had a pretty good relationship. With 8 years difference between us in age, we really didn't do a lot of things people imagine brothers doing together. Things like playing ball or hanging out a lot. We did do some things together and my brother was always very good to me in my lifetime. In 2007, he came to visit me and my parents here in Las Vegas from Los Angeles at Christmas time. He had just returned from a trip to Israel not long before. He had not been feeling well and wasn't really sure what was wrong. We all just assumed it was being tired from such a long trip. About a month later we found out he was diagnosed with non-hogkins lymphoma. He went through his treatments and was doing very well, or as well as can be expected. Just prior to his last treatment our mother had taken ill and passed away one day prior to finding out that he was now cancer free. He remains that way to this day!! This loss brought us closer. Recently, we suffered the loss of our father. Now we remain and let me tell you, if anything good came out of the loss of our parents, it is the fact that we have a renewed love for each other! There isn't anything he hasn't or wouldn't do for me and like wise! My brother has truly become my newest hero in life! He is such an amazing person and I do love him as much if not more than anyone! He is more than my brother, he is now one of my very best friends!!! Love ya Big Brother!!

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
