Every person in my opinion is a hero in one or the other way as everyone is fighting for the survival each day. However, this man - a common man is a real hero in my perspective as I have seen him indulging in acts that only a hero can. The story is about Sumit, my husband. Once when we were at an orthopedics's clinic, we saw a little girl crying because she had a fracture in her ankle and her father who was in a torn loincloth (dhoti in hindi) looked helpless as he could not afford a plaster on his daughter's broken ankle. I and others in the hospital could only give a look of pity or compassion and nothing else we could ever think of doing. All of a sudden, Sumit got up from his seat and went to the nurse who was dealing with that man. The father and the daughter were at that time in the doctor's cabin. Sumit asked the nurse to do the plaster for which Sumit was willing to pay and he also insisted that the man should not know about who paid for it.
After watching the whole incident, I was surprised and elated too, for the man I married is not only my hero but is a Real Hero who can help the needy without giving a second thought and also without asking for anything in return from them. This is just one incident, he has been doing these acts of generosity whenever it is possible.
Another thing about this man is that he has a heart of gold. We are watching even murders happening everyday in every corner of the world only because of unnecessary anger. But in this world of cruel and shrewd, Sumit sets another example. Recently, Sumit's car got bumped into by a motorbike on which were riding a man with his wife and a few months old baby. Sumit got out of the car and looked panicked because he was concerned about the baby. He asked the father if the baby was OK for which he did not reply and started shouting on him instead. While they were talking about and tring to resolve the whole thing, a man came from behind and without warning hit Sumit with an Iron rod. This he did only out of sheer anger, because the people on the bike were absolutely OK. Due to that sudden and sharp hit, his head started bleeding and without saying a word, he rushed to the nearest hospital alone driving his own car. In the hospital came a few friends and relatives of Sumit who advised him to file a police complaint which he refused. Also, when asked why did not he raise his hands in anger, the reply made him a hero that was "it is very easy to raise your hand on someone and very difficult to control it. I chose the tougher part." After three days, the boy who hit sumit came to apologize along with his whole family for the act and showed surprise about how Sumit controlled his anger and did not do anything against anyone. This whole incident made Sumit a hero in everyone else's eyes too.
Sumit told me later that he was content that he did not do anything wrong and has also found power to forgive people.
