Manuel & Rosaura Valera are an extraordinary couple. They are parents to four biological children plus hundreds of spiritual children. They are the Pastors of "Iglesia Somos Adoradores" (We Are Worshippers Church) in the Dominican Republic. They live a life of abnegation and dedication to sustain the needs of others. There is not a moment of rest for this selfless couple. They are too busy praying, leading, teaching, cooking, preaching, mentoring, and counseling their "sheep". They run a music school at their church location. They offer affordable prices for anyone wanting to learn or perfect their singing, musical or dancing skills. Pastor Valera auditioned and coordinated an all-female music band. Singers, musicians, dancers and the music band are often invited to perform at special events or on television shows. Pastor Valera has also authored numerous important books that have helped countless people in ministry. In addition to the work with their congregation, they also lead outreach services for disabled orphans, prisoners, and the elderly in seniors’ homes. The most challenging part of their outreach work is the assistance, sponsorship and special programs that they offer to the disabled children in the orphanage "Casa de Luz" (House of Light) just outside of their hometown of Santo Domingo. Sometimes donations are received from missionaries travelling to their country; but otherwise their labour is facilitated through a small budget. The Valeras are a humble couple who love their fellow human beings and so they do unto others as they would have things done unto them. They do everything with love, discipline and excellence. Never ones to neglect their beautiful, close-knit family their home is always filled with food, love, laughter and visitors. Visitors come from Canada or the USA to observe and learn their best practices. Compassion is too small a word to describe their sacrificial work. In their humility, they attribute all the glory to God Almighty!
