My best friend, practically my sister, has been laughing alongside me for almost eight years. We met on the very first day of kindergarten, unfortunately my memory’s hazy from such a long time ago so I don't quite remember, but I know that she was always an amazing person. We’ve been in the same classes for nearly all of our friendship (excluding fifth grade, we were in different classes) and we have three class periods together here in middle school.
I find it a shame that she lacks self-esteem. I tell her too many times; “you’re prettier than me” and she retorts with “well, you’re smarter than me”. Even if that was the case, she is much more emotionally strong than I am. She’s witty, generous, giving, quirky, and brimming with the essence of a true-blooded companion. She is the epitome of a soul mate. I can’t believe that I was never more of a friend for her. I hope she always knows how much she means to me. I don’t care if we can be bitter towards each other. She has forgiven me each time for lashing out. Sometimes, I need to sit back and think about one of the best people that have ever been mine.
For Victoria, the best sister I could ever ask for. I love you.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
