I’ve had a hard time deciding which parent I will choose, but since my dad works out of town and I don’t see him enough, I’m going to have to say my everyday hero is my mom because she is always there for me, no matter what. I could be halfway across the country and she would see if I was doing okay. My mom, a couple of years ago was diagnosed with stage III liver cancer and became really sick. She actually found out from an infection that had gone unnoticed which turned into sepsis. Sepsis is when your blood cells are infected and it is deadly and can kill within days. Once she got out of the hospital from sepsis, she would still take care of us and make sure we were doing fine even though she was sick. I remember one time, I missed the bus and my mother was home throwing up so I didn’t want to ask her to take me. I went back home and even though, I didn’t want her to take me, she still brought me to school on time. My mother is very caring and is determined with what she does. Another reason I love my mom is because she lets me be what I want to be and is not a bossy parent. She lets me choose everything myself like if I want “to be a doctor or a lawyer?” or if I want “to go in sports or focus more on academics?”. My mom will let me choose these by myself instead of bossing me around like other parents. The way my mother raised me made me a good kid who did his homework, had manners, and overall listened and obeyed others in life just because she was a more relaxed parent. I feel like my mom and I communicate in a way that is almost like she is just a friend who wants to hang out and talk, not a leader barking orders at me. In all, my mother is a great person and I believe that God blessed her and knew she was too valuable for the world too lose just yet.
