My Unassuming Hero
Grandmothers hold our tiny hands for just a little while, but they hold our hearts forever.
My unassuming hero is definitely my grandmother.
She is the kind of grandmother that is devoted to her family. She is my dad’s mom, and she helps me whenever I need something. She is very successful, strong, loving, neat, and nice. She has gone through a lot of tough times, but she will never give up on anything. She has five grandchildren and one more on the way. Her daughter, my aunt, and grandson, my cousin, moved to North Carolina a few years ago. Now that my aunt is pregnant, with another boy, it is really hard for my grandmother because she won’t be able to go to the hospital to meet the new baby. She really misses them and so does the whole family.
Furthermore, my grandmother is for sure one of the toughest people that I know. She battled breast cancer a couple of years ago, and she has to help my grandfather get around. My grandmother had cancer, but cancer never had her. She has to help my grandfather because he has diabetes, and he is in a wheelchair. He is also a really strong, tough person.
Additionally, my grandmother helps me and my family whenever we need help with something. She is a very nice person. She has a good head on her shoulders and has never been in trouble with the law. Whenever she comes across someone that needs help, she will immediately help them if they are struggling. My uncle, her brother-in-law, just had to have brain surgery, and she was with him almost every step of the way. The day that my uncle had brain surgery, my grandfather had to have surgery on his leg. My grandmother was more concerned about my uncle because my grandfather has had surgery on his legs multiple times. My uncle has to stay in the hospital for four weeks.
Happily for her, my grandmother has four children and five grandchildren. She is not the type of grandparent that we see once or twice a month; we see her once or twice a week! She always comes around, and she is always there for us. My family invites her and my grandfather over for dinner a lot, and she invites us over for dinner sometimes. She always takes me out to go shopping and out to eat and fun treats like that so we can have a girls’ day. I love my grandmother.
In conclusion, my grandmother is very hard working, she works at a hospital. She used to work at the career centering Skowhegan, she retired from the career center after working there for twenty five years. She had to begin working again when my grandfather became ill. Before my grandfather got sick he was the fire chief in Skowhegan. I love my grandmother with all my heart and I know she will always there for me when I need her.
