One phone call changed my entire life around. Well it was December 2009 and I was just about through my first semester of college, and for the past 11 years I had thought seriously about killing myself except what was holding me back was my family and friends who cared about me. Then one day I got a phone call from my good friend who lives in Michigan and she asked me if I knew some boy that just died recently. I answered "yeah how did he die?" she told me he killed himself. I was devastated and crying and asking how could he do this. I went to the funeral the following week and it was just sad to see a young life go so quickly, but it made me realize how beautiful life is and you shouldn't waste it. I now talk to groups of people about the effects of suicide and how it affects the people around you that love you. Know one thing if you are very down and depressed... suicide is never the answer, life gets so much better. So pass this along to your friends or family members who may be feeling suicidal because even if I don't know the person, I still care about them.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
