I believe that we are blessed to have one true friend in our lifetime. That friend, for me, would be Liz. We met in 1964, both newlyweds away from home. We were in the same town for a little more than a year. How could we know that in 2011 we would still be the BEST of friends living 300 miles apart. Even with distance between us, we have maintained that friendship. We manage to see each other every two or three years; sometimes 5 years or more. The telephone is a wonderful thing. Then the computer. No matter, we always stay in touch. We have supported each other through many difficult times. And, now , both in our 60's, we are in frail health. I saw Liz this past summer and she is very ill. Still, when we got together, it was as if we were never apart. Memories flooded back; it was as if we were back in 1964 and the years that have gone by didn't matter. Liz is my life long friend. I could never have a better friend. I love her very much, and whatever happens from here, I will be thankful for her friendship for the rest of my life. I am truly blessed!

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
