It was the last day of school. My mother and my brother were taking a trip to Washington, D.C. They came back with the most amazing story I had ever heard!
It just so happened that when they arrived in New York, my mother and brother's train had a malfunction. The conductors asked everyone to move forward to another train-car. When everyone was settled in their seats, my mother realized she didn't have her pocket-book. In her pocket-book, was her money, her tickets, her credit card, her ID, and her license. My mother jumped up and panicked. Suddenly, a jerk of movement sent my mom back in to her seat. Chug-a-chugga, went the trains wheels. My mother rushed to the conductor. "Excuse me, but I think I left my pocket-book back on the other train-car. Can you stop the train?" my mother asked. The conductor replied, "Oh, I'm sorry, mam. I'm afraid we cannot let you off. They already took that cart away to the yard." My mom quickly grabbed her cell phone,(which was really the only thing she had) and started calling people to help her out with this terrible problem. My mothers sister, Jeanine, wanted to send some money, but without her identification, my mother could not get any money. Later on, the train got stuck. 3 hours, my mother and brother waited. The train FINALLY started moving and stopped in Delaware. A man went to leave the train and handed my mom $112. My mother said," I can't take this! It is so much money!" " No,no I've been blessed." said the man. Just as he left, my mother smiled and told the man she would find a way to pay him back. She got the man's address. They finally arrived in Washington, D.C., but did not get to do all the things planned. My mom and brother got to take a few bike rides, buy souvenirs, and more. They made the best of the worst vacation!

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
