El Paso is a windy city in the spring. Because we are in a desert, wind means sand. Today's sandstorm was a ferocious one, coating everything in dirt and blowing away anything not secured. While waiting at a traffic light, I noticed a young woman pushing a child in an umbrella stroller. I commented to my son, "Oh that poor girl", as she struggled to keep the stroller upright. Just then the wind whipped a piece of clothing from the stroller and it quickly was blown across the street. I was a block down the street and thought to myself, "When the light turns, I can pull into that lot and maybe find it . . . " Just then a teenager from a car nearby her jumped out, ran across the street, grabbed the sweater and ran it back to her. It took character to step out into today's dust-storm to do something for someone else in need--he had character. It was inspiring.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
