I was shopping in our local Walmart the other day slightly annoyed by somebody's screaming child, who just would not quiet down. The small boy could be heard throughout the store, yelling just to yell. He looked at me as I passed his mother pushing the cart that he sat in and I smiled as I looked back. He said "hi" in a quiet and easy tone. And I said "hi" back and gave him an even bigger smile. The boy didn't smile back but I didn't hear him yelling the rest of the time that I was in the store!
So I discovered something that day. It's true what they say about smiling at someone to brighten their day. It really does work. But the most amazing thing is that it not only brightens that persons day, but makes your own light shine as well!

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
