Today I saw a young girl, and she looked at me, she said, "I cannot wait till I'm as big as you". And I remember when I said those exact words. Now how I wish I could take them back. I remember my childhood as if it were yesterday. I am still young, only 14, entering my "teen" years. I looked and said, "well just enjoy this time while it lasts". As I grew up I faced the challenges of life and death. My Grandfather died of lung cancer and my grandmother has just been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. And although there is more those are the important things. 2 years ago my mother took on an A.V.M and had brain surgery. When I tell people my story they say you seem so chill. And my advice to someone going through this, you can't dwell because it's not going to change anything, it's not going to fix your problem. It will only make you depressed, as well as your family. As I learned people will judge you by the slightest little thing. And it's hard growing up there is so much I have to learn. But, I will fight through it and with my friends family and horses I will survive.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
