My son, Arthur, is 9 years old. He has always had a compassionate heart. When he was in kindergarten he saw me looking at a website that collects school supplies to be sent for the soldiers to pass out. He wanted to collect supplies and send them in. So he asked everybody for supplies and donations. I had a paypal account that people would donate money to. I also set up a webpage for him. He collected quite a few supplies and made several packages. And all this in KINDERGARTEN! Since then he has been showing compassion. His latest was for his birthday party. He was limited in how many children he could invite, as we were having it at Chuck E. Cheese. He invited one boy in his class who was in a wheelchair and severely disabled (he couldn't even talk). I explained to him that most likely the boy wouldn't be able to come because of his issues. My son replied, "That's ok. I just want him to know what it's like to be invited to a party." I just about cried right then and there I was so proud!

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
