Helping others
11:35 and the bell thank god I think to myself as I walked to the lunch room. Lunch started out like any other, I had some money so I and my friends went to get a pizza. Then on the way back we ran into the kid named hennery. “Can I bum a dolla of you my mom lost her job so I’m broke and starving” Suddenly I remember when my dad lost his job and I was hungry.
When I was 12 my dad lost his job at k.o.h mechanical. Things went decent for a couple of weeks, but then we started to run out of food. Then one day I walked through the door and all I can see was a wrecked house. Then I could hear my parents fighting in the back of the house. You can smell my fear like I had b.o as I explored the house. Then my mom finally had enough and walked outside, so I followed her.
Once we got outside my mom sat on the back of her car and started crying. That’s when the man from across the street walks over to find out what was wrong. “My husband lost his job and now we have no food!” my mom sobbed.
The man thought for a second, and then told us to get into his car. After a minute we were heading to the grocery store in his brown station wagon. Then once we got there he demanded that we go and pick out 1 weeks’ worth of groceries. It took about 45 minutes to find everything, making sure what we got would last. Finally after finding everything we found the man, and he gave us the money to pay for the food. “No need to repay me is my good deed for the day” the man said as he finished paying for the food.
Then all of a sudden I’m back in reality, and I knew I could not let this kid go hungry. That’s when I remembered we had some left over pizza that we just bought. Once I did I immediately gave the rest of the pizza. ”oh man thanks man I owe you!” hennery said gratefully. That’s when the bell rang and, when I got back to class I know that I did my good deed for the day.
