Helping Others
“What are you doing?” My sister comes and asks me. “I’m watching TV!” I answer. She tells me she needs help with a project she has and it is due the next day. Vanessa is telling me what requirements the project has to have. While she tells me about her project, I immediately have a flashback.
I remember when my mom helped me with a project I had. It was a normal day at school when the teacher told us she had an announcement. “You guys will have a project that you guys will have to do,” she exclaimed. “It will have a lot of things in it so you might take notes on it,” she added. As the teacher finished talking I was watching for the big, white paper with different materials.
As I got home I was still thinking about it. My mom was talking on the phone and chewing her gum at the same time. I thought to myself “If I don’t do the project not only will I fail but probably be the only one without a project!” I had to tell my mom about it, so I did. “Mom I need help with the project!” I exclaimed. I have to work all day today, but when I get home I’ll help you,” she answered. I felt like I had a big weight on my back.
As soon as she got home she stayed up all night with me just to finish my project. Not only were we both tired, we were sleepy too, but we kept working until we got done. The next day came by and I was in front of the huge, clear door. Now that my project was done I quickly turned my project in. After I turned it in and was all graded, the teacher gave it to me and told me it was a good project.
As my flashback was going away, all of the sudden I am back to reality. I tell my sister I will help her with anything she needs. When we finish eating lunch we start right away with that project. We work on her project for hours but it is like working for weeks. Although it wasn’t the best work, she got a good grade on I, which was great.
