Live Your Dream
I just got out of school, I am walking down the crowded hallways at Granger High School when I hear my friend say “Wait up!”I turn around to find my friend who is 4'11” trying to get around people who have got to be like 6'5”. She finally gets past them and asks, “ What's up?”. When I look forward I see a kid about my age who has a prostetic leg. Immediately I think back to about three years ago.
I was at a family get together on the night of July 4th watching fireworks go off. It was like a color explosion in the night sky, there were so many different ones, no matter what way you looked there was a firework in the sky. After most of the fireworks were done my cousins and I went and road bikes and scooters around the neighborhood. My little cousin Karsen had just learned how to ride his bike without training wheels. Not long after it was time for me to go home.
A couple weeks later on a hot sunny day, my aunt was mowing her lawn with a drive in lawn mower. Karsen walks outside to ask his mom a question. My aunt backs up not seeing him there and accidentally runs over his leg. We soon find out that his leg was cut off and that he would need a prostetic leg to walk. So in order to pay for the medical bills she held a fundraiser this fundraiser you would run a 5k starting at seven in the morning and there was breakfast served. The name of this fundraiser is/ was Run Karsen Run.
The following year Karsen was at a park and fell off a roundabout and broke his upper leg putting him in a half body cast. Soon after his cast was off he went back to doing what normal kids do with their life, such as sports and playing with friends. Soon after we all realized that everything would be okay.
Suddenly I feel someone bump into me and I come back to reality. I look around for that kid but he seem to have vanish into thin air or something, for I looked around and could not find him. My friend asks me, “Who are you looking for?”.I tell her, “Oh nobody I... I just thought I saw someone, that's all”. You know it's like I saw a ghost or something, it was there one second and gone the next.
