A life well lived
My hero is my great grandpa. He was a great man not only did he serve his country he was a good man to his family and friend. He was like as big and strong as a grizzly bear. I think he is my hero because of his love for his wife “My great grandma).my great grandpa took care of my grandma day in and day out, she was paralyzed down her left side and she4 happened to get sick kind of often my grandparent move a lot because they didn’t like the care givers.
They then moved into an apartment that was built onto my uncle’s house. My grandparents moved in and my grandpa then got diagnosed with bone cancer. This took the family by a very big surprise. So my grandpa then had surgery and was recovering very well. Shortly after he slipped and fell and broke his arm. When he was in the hospital my cousin visited him my grandpa asked him “do you want to hear the greatest story ever?” my cousin replied “yeah sure,” my grandpa had then said “you just heard it.”
So my grandpa was in rehab, he was recovering very slowly. My grandpa was their visiting and he was talking to him and he leaned in close and that is when he took his last breath face to face with his son. Shortly after we had we had a funeral and had him cremated. We buried half the ashes and gave the other half to my great grandma for her to keep. My great grandma struggled and didn’t believe he had actually passed.
Day after day we had to remind her that he had passed. She struggled with Alzheimer’s and everyone noticed it. I went out there to Seattle to take care of her. When I got their she remembered me but she thought I was 10 years old but I was 14 at the time. After I got home from visiting about 1 month later she got put into an old folks home. Shortly after that she passed away, but we know she is in a lot better place and she is a lot happier now.
