My name is Laurie Beck and at the young age of 42 I was diagnosed with an incurable cancer...non Hodgkin lymphoma, marginal cell leukemia and it was in my spleen. I was told immediate chemo. I sought not just two opinions but decided on a third. Two doctors said immediate chemo and the third said "watchful waiting". I chose watchful waiting. This is where my true journey begins. For the first time I needed to be quiet and listen to my inner voice. I have written two books one called Eight Little Lessons of hope and healing and I am Living to Tell. I am on a mission to get my story out there and spread the message of HOPE! I am considered a "one percenter". My story was on Dr. Oz. www.lauriebeck.com

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
