Good evening,
My name is J. Alexander Batista, I'm a senior nursing student at Florida Southern College and a proud member of the United States Navy's Nurse Candidate Program (NCP). I have grown up watching the messages from Values on the television and I am now old enough to appreciate the significance it brings to this world, I came to the United States from Cuba when I was eight year of age, my mother was a single parent and most of my life I grew up without a father figure. Many of my moral values came from home, but some were self learned from my surroundings. Fortunately, the choices I have made through my life and the people I have chosen to associate with along with many of the messages spread by the Foundation for a Better Life have made me who I am today. I would like to thank the team of the Foundation for a Better Life for all of the work they put into spreading good values throughout the world. Furthermore, I would like to ask for assistance in a very special project I am currently working on. On my final semester for my Baccalaureate of Nursing program, I started a community project that involves collecting funds to purchase personal music players in order to deliver them to elderly people with dementia. There have been countless randomized controlled trials that demonstrate the positive effects on cognition and behavior in elderly patients who listen to music. This project I am performing was inspired by the Music and Memory organization. I have raised $245 dollar and 3 ipods so far, but I am running out of momentum and I would appreciate some assistance getting the world out there! Please read more regarding my project at: http://www.gofundme.com/musicfortheelderly
I would kindly appreciate all and any of the help I could get. Besides my email, I can be contact by phone at (786) 314-1351. Thank you for your time.
Humbly,
J. Alexander Batista

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
