I am looking at old photos of my grandpa and me before he died. I see the photo of me, him, my uncle Daniel, my uncle Daniel’s friend Daniel Dale, and Big Buddha at the zoo. That’s how we met Big Buddha.
I see the photo of me and him one of the last pictures I took with him before he died the picture was taken at christmas time. When he dressed up as Santa and took pictures with the kids and I was one of the kids.
I started feel like I failed him that I wasn’t the person he wanted me to be. I start to remember my cub scouts graduation. He talked about how far I came that I’m one of few of his grandsons to get the arrow of light and that he’s proud to call me his grandson.
I start to feel feel sad then I remember all of our fights and arguments and I began to cry. I remember a few of our fights like this one time when i was in 3rd grade and i my grade weren't that good and we fight about it for an hour before I gave in and started doing my homework.
I start to cry I feel like I lost one of my best friends then I remember all of are good times we had, all the hard times he helped me through. I remember when he came and picked up from my house cause I had no school and he had to watch me and he let me bring my bunny rabbit Gizmo well on the way to my grandmas and grandpas house my rabbits eyes started getting sticky. I told my grandpa and he said that he was getting sick. Halfway to my grandpa’s house when Gizmo started to die and he stopped moving my grandpa made me put him in the bathroom so no one would get sick by the 12:00 P.M Gizmo had passed away my grandpa was there for me when I needed him the most. Then I remember one time when we are on are way home from dropping off my grandma at work well we started playing Punchbuggy and I feel asleep. I woke up when I felt something hitting me I looked at him and he was laughing and I looked out the window shield and I saw a truck full of yellow slug bugs “Hey I was sleeping no fair” I said.
I snapped back to reality and put the pictures away then my 6 year old cousin Ayden came up and asked me if I can tell him a story like Papa did. I told him some stories until he fell asleep then I remember what my grandpa taught me. He taught me to treat special needs like normal people that they're no different than us. He was my hero now it's my turn to be my cousin Ayden’s hero I hope I can be the hero my grandpa was to me.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
