I am sitting in musical theatre at my dance studio, when I amwas called out of the room by my dance teacher. “ Hey theres this girl who’s new to the studio,” Margene tellsold me. “Okay,” I said. “ So I want you to be friends with her and help her make friends,” Margene said. Margene introduces me to her. Her name is Britney. “ She went to this studio before, but she left because of family issues and money issues, I know that you guys have the same style and ways of dancing; so I think you’ll get along great,” Margene said. “Hi, I’m Rachel,” I tell her. Britney kind of looked at me with these scared eyes. “ I know you’re probably nervous about meeting new people,” I tell her. “Yeah how can you tell?” Britney asked. “ I think know what nerves are like,” I said. This experience reminded me about the time I met my best friend Taylor.
It was in January when we get new people in musical theatre. After a long winter season of Christmas songs and me not having many friends at dance and at musical theatre. When Margene introduced a boy named Taylor to the group I was in. Taylor looked like a nice kid and he looked like a nice friend. Well when everyone left and my parents, my brothers, and I were still there. My dance teacher told me that Taylor and I could be really good friends. My mom then said “Isn’t that Taylor Pahl from preschool.” “ I don’t know Mom,” I said. My mom turned to Margene and asked “Is that Taylor Pahl from when Rachel was in preschool.” “Yes that is Taylor Pahl, but I didn’t know that they went to preschool together,” I then remembered that Taylor and I did go to preschool together. “ You wouldn’t mind me putting him with you in your family spots right?” Margene asked. “ No I told her I wouldn’t mind,” I told her. My family then leaves.
So the next week I walked into musical theatre. As usual my little brother and I were there at four when my older brother was supposed to be there. Margene had already gotten there, so had Taylor and his older sister. Margene introduced me to him and we started hanging out in the other studio. “ So what do you want to do,” I asked? “I don’t know what I want to do lets just hang out in here,” Taylor decided. “ Okay,” I said. By then I realized that his eyes were as green as the grass. So when it was time to go into the bigger studio I remembered that Margene was going to put him next to me. “ So I need to put Taylor into a family spot,” Margene stated. I didn’t say anything about her putting him next to me. “ I think I will put Taylor next to Rachel,” Margene said. After he left I was talking to Margene. “ The reason why I put Taylor next to you was because I thought he would be your good friend,” Margene told me. I then nodded and smiled.
The next week at musical theatre I was there early again. Just my luck so was Taylor. I walked into the dance studio. Taylor was sitting in the little studio reading a book. I smiled, walked over to him, and sat down next to him. “Hi Taylor,” I said. “Hey Rachel,” Taylor said. “ What book are you reading,” I ask. “Its embarrassing,” Taylor said. “Okay,” I said. “ Its a book called Goddess Girls,” Taylor said. I laugh because he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to really like reading. “ What's so funny,” Taylor asks. “ Nothing,” I say still laughing a little. “Okay,” Taylor says laughing at me now. “So do you want to hang out sometime this week,” I ask. “Maybe, I’ll have to call you,” He said. Well little did I know that calling each other would be harder than I thought. Taylor kept calling when I wasn’t home. We finally got a hold of each other so we could hang out. Now today we still hang out and text each other. Taylor taught me a lot about being friendly to other people.
As I snapped back to reality, I look at Britney and smile at her. “ You’re going to love it at the studio,” I tell her. She looks at me and smiles. We walk into the studio and get to working on are dance.
