I just moved to the U.S.A, leaving all of my friends in Canada I don't know what is to come at the high school I will be attending soon. I am more focused on the yearbook than the future. I come across one of the notes Clarissa left there for me. As I read what she left for me from grade 7 tears escape my eyes and run across my cheeks. All I am thinking about is my BFF.
I still remember the first day of grade 7. Confused of where to go, but I found my way. I walked as slow as a turtle entering the room, hoping to see a friendly face. I scanned the room and I saw Clarissa, and a couple other girls sitting at the round table. Clarissa waved at me and said ''Hey, come sit with us.'' I walked over to the blue chairs, as I sat down the chair was icy cold. I started the conversation saying ''I honestly still feel like I'm in grade 6.'' Clarissa replied ''Same here!'' We talked for a little bit until the teacher walks in with a smile and says ''Hello class!'' We knew right there reality started to begin the future. I was filled with relief that I found someone I can talk to, and maybe can become better friends.
As the teacher finished up talking about what is going to happen for the first couple of days, Clarissa said ''How do we even get to our second period class?!'' Our teacher explained how to get there. The bell rang me and Clarissa shared the same nervous look. We got up slowly, hoping someone will lead the way. Clarissa grabbed my arm and we walked out together to the next class. I whispered ''Do you know where to go?'' She said ''Not a clue, but we will find it together.'' She said with a confident smile.
After the first morning of grade 7, Clarissa and I were starving we made jokes about each other eating a whole cow. I asked her ''Do you want to have lunch together?'' She said ''Yeah, do you want to eat ice cream and pretzels?'' I said ''Sure!''. I didn't actually care where we went, as long as there was food. We walked pretty fast to get the ice cream, because we had a feeling other people were going to go there to. We both got chocolate flavoured ice cream and we sat down in one of the rooms. We talked about how we miss John M. King, what do we think is going to happen this year, goals for getting good grades, and finished off with let's be BFF's. We said ''Yeah, lets be BFF's!'' After the long lunch hour we were ready to go back and finish the rest of our day at school as best friends.
To this day me and Clarissa are still best friends; though I'm in the U.S.A and she's in Canada, we still talk about what's going on as if we are in person. I realized that a friendly face with a smile can be your new best friend. Someone that you can count on, you know she has your back, you can tell your deepest secrets and she won't tell a single soul. I miss her, but I know I'll see her again, and when we do we will probably talk for a whole day as if I never left.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
