Dr Michael M. has worked with the poor in Africa for nearly 30 years. He has been in many famines and droughts and has lived with the northern nomads in Uganda and Kenya, living as they do. He has build clinics, schools, health programs and water projects. He founded The International Community for Relief of Starvation and Suffering (ICROSS) in six countries and is the North of Kenya now fighting starvation. His fight against poverty was a recent BBC hard talk show that touched many Africans like me. We award celebrities for talking at events about the poor, this man has given every day of his life to them. That's a hero to me.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
