My hero is my twin sister who is currently fighting her for her life against breast cancer. Mind you this is her third battle with cancer. Her first battle occurred at the age of 15 when she was diagnosed with cancer (Hodgkins Disease). She endured surgery, radiation and the loss of hair but survived her battle with a glowing attitude. She became a candy striper to show support to others that were going through cancer. Although the treatment kept her from graduating high school she got her GED at age of 34. Her second battle began with breast cancer at the age of 34. This time she endured multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and hair loss once again. She now had three children to take care of while receiving treatment. She was on her way to remission when she was told that the breast cancer had metastasized to her liver lungs and bones. This time it’s chemotherapy every week, a clinical trial shot every three weeks and of course, the loss of her hair. The pain she endures is so great. She now has four children to take care of in her family. She’s gone through all this and still keeps a wonderful attitude and loves everyday of her live no matter what happens.
