I am a Sudan national working with African Union Mission in the Sudan. I would like to recommend to you Mr. R., Seniour Humanitarian Affairs Officer. He has displayed courage, determination, compassion and character towards local staff. R. came to the mission in October 2004 and was deployed in Darfur from October 2004 to August 2005.
Darfur was not easy to live in, but he has endured it all. He has lived a life of example and sacrifice, at times preferring to walk rather than moving around in air conditioned Mission vehicles, despite the harsh temperatures. He will be returning to his home country, Uganda, in late December 2006. The IDPs and we the Local Staff of AMIS will miss him.

I am truly moved by your daughter's courageous act and deeply caring nature. You must feel very blessed to have such a wonderful daughter; but please do not forget that she in turn has also been blessed with a wonderful father, who had the courage to follow through and honour that promise. One smart kid, she caught you out!

I wept too! I wish I could be the kid I was with that attitude we, as kids, may have had. Lovely. Thank you!!

Sometimes God speaks and acts through the words, hands, smiles of blessed souls as your daughter. You must be so proud of her.

Your daughter is the kind we all hope for.

I literally do not have words to express my feelings after reading this. What an unconditional love this little girl's heart is filled with. I have seen small girls who are crazy about their looks and hair and this sweet divine kid sacrificing her hair for a little boy...do we have any language which is so rich to appreciate this noble soul? You are highly blessed to have such a child.

I cannot believe no one has ever commented on this incredible story, nor passed it on...I'm honored to be the first one. Be proud to raise a kid like that!
