At 14 yrs. old Jarem lost his leg above the knee to cancer. Since then he has been a Super Hero.
An avid outdoorsman, Jarem grew up hiking, skiing & biking with his family and friends. When he lost his leg many doctors told him he would most likely never be able to telemark (free heel) ski again. The technology and prosthetic equipment just weren't there.
Never accepting the "I can't mind set, Jarem developed the first prosthetic knee that would provide an athlete the ability to do the sports he loves. Jarem has become the world's first above knee amputee who is able to ski backcountry and throw back flips covering a distance of 60'!! Last year he also competed in the 1st ever eXtremity Games and won the rock climbing event. Jarem, now in his early 30's, is a man among men and for these reasons that I have mentioned he is a perfect candidate as a Hero for your Foundation.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
