My name is Michael M. I'm 43 years old and was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2008; which was caused by exposure to toxic water while serving in the Marines at Camp Lejeune NC. Since '08 my family and I have had so much advice, assistance, support and total compassion from a group that calls themselves "The Few, The Proud, The Forgotten" (TFTPTF). Everyone at TFTPTF, especially Jerry & Jessica, Mike & Family, and Andrea Jeff & Mary, have had a profound impact on my life & cancer journey (and my battle with the Veterans Administration). I've never asked for their help and been delayed or denied. I've never seen any of them give less than their best efforts. For several years now they have been the ones fighting for our shared cause, and I am referring to thousands of people. The commitment of these extraordinary people is boundless and warrants gratitude beyond a simple thanks!

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
