On May 1, 2010 Duane Jackson saw a vehicle illegally parked across from his vending stand in Times Square, New York. It appeared to have smoke coming from inside. He didn't just turn his back, he called it in to the police. I met him this past May when I stopped to thank him for his courage and vigilance. He was very humble. He works hard for US Vetrans and speaks at schools to give kids the courage to "Say something if they see something that is not right". To me Duane is an Everyday Hero.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
