The person that is my hero is someone that a lot of people chose, but I feel that she is truly different from every one else; my Mom. She's taught me a lot of the things I know today, and if she hadn't I wouldn't be as successful as I am or be able to do a lot of the things I can now.
My mom is hard working. She commutes to D.C. every day to make money for our family. The commute is very stressful for both her and Dad, yet she doesn't let it show in the house. She's also very independent because of her job. If something happened to Dad she'd still be able to care for me.
Mom is also very compassionate toward those less fortunate. She is always donating to those in need and helping others. She says that sometimes others just need a bit of a helping hand.
My mom is also very kind. She shows kindness to others when other people won't. Even when she doesn't like someone she goes out of her way to be nice to them. I think that's one of her most admirable traits since not many people I know are able to do so.
I love my mom. She's a great role-model for myself and others. She's taught me so much in the twelve years I've been alive. I'm truly thankful to have her in my life.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
