The figure that I look up to- Catherine, my older sister- is a person that is the owner of many talents and qualities that have been granted by a power so much more than mortal ability. All through my existence, she has been my guide and tutor in the ways of life, and her influence has raised me to where I am today. Without that ray of light, I couldn't be me.
Her wisdom has brought her to new heights that she was destined for. It shines like a beacon in every word she speaks, every step she takes, and every plan she builds for the future.
Respect is given, but, in return, it is received. Catherine is one of the most respectful people I know- her mentors, peers, parents, and younger children granted her respect and compassion. She's also a greatly respected figure, despite her age.
Humor is like a sparkling light in a dark forest, a bright face in a midst of paleness and grief. My sister can turn anyone's frown into a smile, any grimace into a laugh. In the darkest hours, every writer's block or musician's block I go through, I just think of one of her jokes or silly videos she's lent me, and it spreads through my demeanor like a fire in a dry field.
Finally, her courage and determination has led her to her place in society-a gifted singer who will one day be remembered in the deep trappings of history. Every obstacle, she's faced independently. Every struggle that's come up has been conquered. Each quality that I've described is a reason of why she means so much to me, and I know she will do great things, greater than anything that has been done before, one day.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
