My Dad was very involved in the lives of his children. He was a volunteer on the Cub Scout and Scout committees for our church. He wanted the best education for his children so he ran for and was elected to the School Board in our district.
He always went to school, church, and scout events. He used his vacation time to take my brothers and I on scout camp outs. He also gave time for our sisters activities, taking them to special events just for them, making sure that all of us knew we were loved. Each of us had time when it was just us with our Dad.
Despite the burdens of my mother's cancer, he always displayed his love and commitment to her. Making every effort to bring her happiness and build their relationship.
My father was truly a complete Man; strong, gentle, caring, and loving. I learned how to be a man from his example.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
