Our 6 year old daughter as young as she is, is our hero. She was born with a congenital hand deformity, and only has 3 fingers on her right hand. She has undergone several surgeries starting as early as 6 months old. She is proud of who she is and tries any activity without limiting herself. She is determined to do her best in her Karate class and her school work (she has received A's since Kindergarten). She has encountered teasing in school or stares outside of school but she handles it was with grace and confidence. She doesn't let those who tease her put her down. She remains excited about what life has to offer. She is our hero because she accepts herself for who she is and loves who she is. We are so proud of her confidence and excitement for life. We know that she will only inspire other children with a hand deformity as hers. Her courage to face the world that isn't so kind, inspires us as parents!

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
