Dr. B. at Elmhurst College is an amazing history professor. He is extremely passionate about his subject as well as his students. When my friend's mother died of cancer, Dr. B. called my friend to see how he was doing and even came to the funeral. Dr. B. knew I was good friends with this guy and would continue to ask me how I was holding up during the ordeal. He wrote me an amazing recommendation to graduate school, which I will be attending in the fall. Dr. B. has inspired me to find the best in myself!

We can learn every day if only we open our hearts to receive it. Stereotyping the world(people) around us makes us blind but this humble family opens ones eyes to see that there is something unique(positive and of great value) that each individual(any culture, colour, etc) has which we can learn, share, and appreciate to make this world a better place to live in.

Without compassion, respect, and caring for one another, we have nothing. Don't underestimate anybody for there is something in everybody to learn from.

Not to be afraid of colors, isn't the rainbow so beautiful because the different color it has, so do not be afraid, and start to learn what others can contribute to your own culture.

"Learning a valuable lesson", is what gives you a lot of strength & hope. I have experienced same & tried to change my attitude. We can learn from our surroundings all the time. Then, we can grow in a true sense.

This story once again illustrates that diversity or different backgrounds can be to everyones advantage. Why are we so scared to see it that way. In South Africa it is seen as a threat. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Kindness does not really mean if you are rich or if you are poor. We should learn to love each other. Stand for each other in times of difficulties. Applying these principles, we are solely bound to live in a peaceful world.
