My hero is my older sister. We were a family of six [3 girls and 3 boys] growing up in the 50's and 60's. I was the youngest and of course picked on relentlessly by my older brothers. But my sister Marie always came to my rescue and was my second "mama". She always went out of her way to help others. Even after losing her daughter to drugs and then being diagnosed with a terminal heart disease she kept her faith and did what she could for others. She even helped a blind man across a busy street in freezing temperature while on oxygen herself. She never complained even though I could tell she was in a lot pain at the end of her life 5 years ago. I miss my hero so much, but look forward to seeing her again in our heavenly home.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
