It's not everyday that a child is born into the arms of a remarkable mother. I am blessed to have the best mom and I am thankful for the sacrifices she made and continues to make to give me the best that life has to offer. Throughout the good and bad times in my life, my mom has exemplified true strength and grace. As a baby, she nurtured me and gave me all the love she had to offer. I enjoy watching old videos of our family because I can see the love she has for me in her eyes. It’s amazing to see how I wouldn’t do anything without her watching and clapping for me along the way. Growing up, she worked incredibly hard to afford Catholic school for my sister and me. She additionally worked over time and picked up extra jobs so that we could participate in the after school activities that we loved. It was always relieving for me to be dancing on stage or cheering at half time and look out to see my mom smiling back at me. I don’t think that she realizes how grateful I am for all that she did and how hard she worked. I saw it, but I never took the time to thank her for working so hard for us. She has set a remarkable example of what it is like to be a strong woman. Her encouragement and support through any activity/achievement in my life is something I can never say thank you for enough. I have always looked up to her because she is a unique soul with countless amounts of talents. I truly feel that if I can be half of the woman that she is I will be happy. There is never a time in my life that she yelled at me or wasn’t there for me. From day one, she has remained positive and supportive and has instilled in us the value of a family. Each holiday we never went without, in fact, my mom performed a miracle each Christmas by making ends meet and giving us presents that filled the whole living room! Once all of the gifts were opened she would say, I wish I could give you more…but little did she know we were ecstatic with everything she had given us because it was over the top! To this day, with my mom by my side, I feel like I can do anything. She is my hero for so many reasons; she is smart, determined, supportive, a hard worker, beautiful, loving, and a superb mom to name a few, but mostly because she was selfless in raising my sister and me. Not every child is blessed with a heroic mom, but I was…she is a modest person and doesn't expect anything from others, but she deserves all of the beautiful gifts that life has to offer her. I love you mom! Thank you for being MY HERO ? xo
