Hi my name is Krystle and I'm an addict. I have been addicted to drugs for 6 years and it wasn't until I went to stay with my sister and her family that I was able to come off and stay off drugs. Kandyce is my niece and she is the most amazing person I know. She is very responsible, a wonderful big sister, holds down a part-time job and goes to school and she's only 17. She graduated high school this past summer and started college as a sophomore this past fall. Kandyce inspired me and showed me how to have a wonderful, fulfilling life without the use of drugs when I never thought I could. That's what I think makes her a hero to me. I woke up every morning and got to see her go about her life without the use of drugs and feel accomplished at the end of the day and that's what makes her a hero in my eyes.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
