I first met Courtney in my first year of middle school in my English room. She was so warm and kind that I felt honored to speak to such a nice angel. Courtney became my first true friend that I could ever count on. She was always there in a heartbeat when I needed her wise words of wisdom. She became my wise older sister and my heroine. She showed me the true meaning of the word friendship and trust. She never mistreated me or used me. She was always there like an older sister watching over me. She was like my very own guardian angel watching over me. Then came that day when I chose to sign up for a new school and I was accepted in to it. I thought I had lost my only true friend. In reality though, I have never lost her friendship and we still keep in touch on regular basis. She is someone who keeps her word and tries to make the world a better place, but she does not know that she has already helped change the world when she showed her love and kindness. She is a heroine and will always be in my eyes and heart. I am thankful to have a very special friend like her in my life. If it was not for her I would not be making the right decisions. She is a loving, caring girl who is always there for her family and friends. She is why I am the person I am today. Without her I would be lost in a world of darkness never taking the opportunity to sign up for a chance to succeed.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
