My Hero is my son Rob. He has just arrived in Afghanistan, where he will be stationed for possibly a year. He is serving in the Army. Rob has spent his whole adult life, trying to be the "best he can be". With his steadfast determination, he has overcome many obstacles that came before him in his path. He will be 38 yrs. old on April 19,2011, which is only a few days away and he will be far away in a strange place, but he will be fine, because he's him, and I know he makes the best out of any situation. He has a wife and two very young (5&6) children at home, that he loves and cherishes. He is such a great Daddy, and a the only part of his going away that bothered him, was having to be apart from his family. He looks at going to Afghanistan, as his duty and as an opportunity to give to his country and to make life better for everyone. He is my son that I love and admire so much...he is My Hero!

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
