One of my older brothers is my hero. Even though he is a pain in the butt and sometimes a jerk he is the one I look up to the most in my life; and he is the one I call my best friend. When he was 17 and it was his summer before his senior year instead of doing what most teenagers would do he decided to join the army and go to basic training. He went back for his senior year and graduated in the year of '08. Then after his senior year he went to his second part of training which is called Advanced Individual Training (AIT); another summer in the army. After coming back from AIT he spent the year just having a job and making some money. Then yet again another summer was for the army, but this was the scariest yet. He was deployed to Iraq April of 2009 to January 2010. That was one of the hardest times in my life to have my older brother who is my best friend to be gone from me for more than 9 months. But he is my hero because he had to be away from his whole family in a dangerous place, working in more than 100 degree weather. In my opinion the men and women who are deployed overseas and having to do a job so far away from home are the most amazing people in the world.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
