I have never known anyone like her, a woman who has suffered some of the worst abuses ever inflicted on a person, and yet remains uncorrupted by the injustices. As much as her heart has been broken in this life, and by this life, she has retained the innocence of a child - which is to say that there is not a single molecule of malice, not one speck unforgiveness, and not a single grain of bitterness in her heart. Instead there is always the fragrance of hope about her - contagious and healing to those, like me, whose dreams had died. Wherever she is, and wherever she goes, she leaves more beauty than she finds - which explains why I am a better person for knowing her: She somehow made me believe in the goodness of...me. If only there were more people like her, we would not need to believe in a faraway heaven. We would have it right here.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
