What exactly is a hero? I think the definition is different for everyone, but for me, my dad is a hero. It's truly amazing how one person can change your life, people who you take for granted every day. People can make a difference in your life, and that’s what my dad did. My dad served in the Army. He went overseas, in the most dangerous locations, for two years for our country, but in those years he taught me some very important things, and one of those things was compassion. He never stopped caring about anyone. He was one of those people who you would look at and just know how big of heart they had. He would put his life on hold to do whatever I asked him to. He would drop everything he was doing just to take me to my friend’s house and every single night he would come in my room and kiss me on the head, as much as I dreaded being kissed on the head, and told me goodnight. He would support me through it all and we need more people like that. He never failed to amaze me, and from this day, he’s there for me through it all. He’s a great soldier, father, hero, and friend.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
