My dad is my hero. He used to carry me on his back to bed and read me a story--every night. He taught me how to fish in the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming. He was always patient and understanding. He just loved me. He provided for our family, he put me through college, and anytime I needed a little help, he didn't blink an eye. He was an American Hero also, serving in WWII as an artillery instructor. When he lost his hearing, lost his eyesight, and became a diabetic, he never complained. He took care of himself, and made the best of his life. He studied the history of his family, published his stories on the internet, and was always inventing something new. Sadly, he passed last September but his love lives on in my life and in his stories. He will always be my hero.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
