My hero is Henry Ruschmeier who is my grandpa that passed away about 10 years ago. He was a really hard working man who grew up in a small town in southern Minnesota. He was born and raised in Glencoe. He served in the army and was a heavy equipment operator in the Korean War. He is one of the people who influenced me to want to be a heavy equipment operator. When I was younger I would always go over to my grandparents farm to hang out with him. Those were the best days of my life. He would always make life on the farm fun even though it actually sucks. I wish I could have gotten to know him better, I was 6 years old when he passed away. He was taken by cancer at the age of 68.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
