My hero is my grandfather Manuel. He is one of the orignal Navajo code talkers. He is still alive. 90 years old. He fought in world war 2 and he has showed me that you can overcome anything. He also was one of the children who went to the horrible carlisle indian school andhe came out stronger than ever. Society says because your Native American , you should be a drunk and lazy, with my grandfather,he went to high school and college and graduated. He became a successful teacher and buisness man. He also teaches native american youth about their culture. I love him so much.

We've all had people in our lives who have made a positive impact on us. A parent or grandparent, a sibling who was there for us, or maybe even just a guy who shines shoes for a living? Whoever they are, tell us their story so they can inspire us even more.
